Cute and simple!

Basic level

It doesn’t get any easier than this; all you need is a cute babe, a soft white blanket and one light.

I positioned an Elinchrom DLite 2 head, fitted with a 1.3M x 50cm Rotalux strip light just above and to the front of the babes cute little limbs, set the power of the light to expose at F5.6 and started shooting away.

The close shooting distance, plus the shallow depth of field (ie minimal area of sharpness) enabled me to select which part of the picture to emphasis, by just focusing on a specific area.

Pictures like this are guaranteed to get mum going, ‘ah’, and they do sell, but don’t forget to get at least a few including the babes face, you know what these mums are like.
