This is the storage you've been waiting for.
No more pile of seperate drives, no more complex RAID arrays that are impossible to expand.
Drobo makes storage simple; just slot in 4 SATA drives, any capacity will do, they don't have to be the same.
The LEDs on the front tell you whats happening:

Green - All's well
Amber - The drobo is filling up, swap out this drive (the smallest) soon, for a bigger one.
Red - I really am nearly full! Swap this drive out ASAP.
Flashing Red - There's something wrong with this drive, swap it out ASAP.

A row of blue LEDs show you the current used capacity.

Unlike a RAID drive, when Drobo gets full you just swap out the smallest drive for a larger one. Simple. And we all know that drives are continuously getting bigger and cheaper so there's no need to splash all your cash right now, just get what you need and expand later. You can even use drives you already own, so long as they are 3.5" SATA and you don't mind them being erased.
