For your information we've collected together some information on various airlines carry-on baggage restrictions.
UK Security Restrictions on size:
According to the Dept for Transport website (as of 08/11/2006):
- 1 piece of cabbin baggage, 56x45x25cm (17.75"x22"x9.85")
Common Airline restrictions, in addition to the above:
Virgin Atlantic :
- 1 piece of cabbin baggage, 56x35x25cm. (NOTE, this is smaller than the BAA size!)
- 6Kg Economy and Premium Economy.
- 8Kg Upper Class.
Brittish Airways:
- 1 piece of cabbin baggage, 56x45x25cm (17.75"x22"x9.85")
- Must be able to lift bag unaided into the aircraft overhead locker.
Easyjet:
- 1 piece of cabbin baggage, 55x40x20cm. (NOTE, this is smaller than the BAA size!)
- Must be able to lift bag unaided into the aircraft overhead locker.
Ryanair: - 1 piece of cabbin baggage, 55x40x20cm. (NOTE, this is smaller than the BAA size!)
- 10Kg
