Our venue for the course is a beautiful, fully restored, 16th century barn in the village of
Lacock
(a great place for a "photographic" weekend) near Chippenham in Wiltshire.
Map of Lacock
Lacock is the former home of William Henry Fox Talbot - the inventor of the negative/positive photographic process
Where better to learn a new photographic skill?
The whole village with the exception of 4 buildings is owned and run by The National Trust and is often used for the filming of period dramas including
the latest BBC production of
"
Cranford",
many of The Harry Potter movies also used locations around Lacock.
Free parking
is available in Lacock very close to the barn. The venue also has good disabled access
There are many Guest Houses and Hotels within easy reach, some in Lacock village itself. The Village ones however are very busy in the summer and we would advise you book early for these
Why not add on a few extra days and spend them in this beautiful part of the country as there are many places to visit within easy reach;
Avebury
,
Castle Combe
,
Bowood House and its Gardens
Stonehenge
and
Bath
are only a short distance away
The nearest main-line railway station is
Chippenham
and free pick-ups can be arranged from the station.
